Mothers Union

The Mothers’ Union Branch at Holy Trinity is a thriving group of thirty eight members who meet monthly on the first Tuesday of the month for a meal, and have a programme of events as varied as our Wave of Prayer service to visits out to local places of interest.

We are part of the Kirkburton Mothers’ Union Deanery and the Wakefield Diocesan MU and join in various events and activities arranged by them.

Our programme is included in the Parish diary and contact can be made for information on any aspect of the Branch’s activities to ;

AFIA (Away from it all holidays) is a scheme run by the Mothers’ Union to give a holiday to people under stress who wouldn’t otherwise get one.  In Wakefield the holidays are tailored to particular needs; many families enjoy a week in an MU caravan on the East Coast on a site with full facilities, while other people benefit from time in a guesthouse.  Recently, Wakefield MU has managed to arrange 10-12 holidays every year.  The Mothers’ Union would be grateful for financial support, but also hope that churches will be able to make this opportunity more widely known, and to pray for the work.  If you would like more details, please contact Mothers’ Union Away From It All Holidays, Church House,
